I was born in New York City in 1979. My mom and I moved to Virginia Beach in 1987. I returned to New York in August 1997, shortly after I graduated from high school. In February 1999, I started my first semester at Fashion Institute of Technology in Fashion Merchandising Management. I received my Associates in Applied Science for Fashion Merchandising Management from FIT in August 2002. I received my Bachelors of Science in Production Management: Textiles in fall 2004.
In January 2003 I gave birth to my daughter Sierra. I started my career as an assistant technical designer at Jones New York in November 2004. Since Jones New York, I’ve worked at Aeropostale, Express, Converse, Reed Krakoff and Protagonist in the technical design department.
In May 2013, I received my Associates in Applied Science in the only major, I ever wanted to major in Fashion Design, with a minor in Psychology from FIT. In 2010, I received my patternmaking certificate from FIT. I call myself a forever student at FIT because I’m always taking a course. I would love to teach one day at FIT in the technical design department, patternmaking department and the computer aid design department.
