House of MM

‘House of m/m’ is a new entrant in the world of fashion. It is being established by two sisters Maryam and Mahnoor Khizer from Pakistan.
Their sustainable fashion collections ‘Ostrich Wool-18’ and ‘Ostrich Wool – Vol II’ have received enormous appreciation from the USA and UAE’s fashion connoisseurs during fashion events being held in Houston, Austin ,
Dallas and Dubai in 2018. Both sisters strongly believe in spreading awareness about sustainable fashion, recycling, reusing and re-looming.
They are of the view that human kind can save the planet by altering their
life style and fashion fraternity may play very crucial role in convincing people at large to protect the earth and Mother Nature.
Maryam Khizer is an emerging apparel designer. She studied Bachelors of Design (Fashion Design) from Pakistan’s premier fashion institute Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD). The fashion school helped Maryam to learn that sustainable fashion is a concoction of high-end design, up cycling, employing traditional methods of fabrication, taking on-board local artisans and leaving green foot prints behind during the entire process of product creation. For Mahnoor Khizer fashion is more than just a business,
she believes that it is a unique way of expressing your ideas, ideals and believes. Furthermore, it helps us to connect with others in our own unique way wearing our exclusive style.
For their first collections House of m/m used ethically harvested ostrich feathers for fabrication. Birds lay-off their old feathers that were collected by the fashion house. Furthermore, feather fibers were blended with cotton for spinning thread over hand run spinning wheels. Realizing the artisan’s handiwork was a dying art due to the threat of fast fashion, ‘House of m/m’ conceptualized the idea for their collection to be constructed on 3 key principles: original; innovative design, handmade exclusivity, social and environmental impact. The duo is super excited for participation in ‘Harlem Fashion Week’ and are in process of designing their new collection exclusively for showcasing in HFW-2019.
